We're excited to announce that we've released two great new features that will enable your clients to promote their businesses even more effectively through the ShopCity.com platform.

#1 - New Facebook App

The new Facebook app provides you with great new ways to interact on Facebook.

Add photos to your posts

Simply click on the camera icon that is located beneath the “What's New” text box.  This will enable you to add an image from your photo gallery or upload a photo from your computer. These photos will also be shared on your newsfeed.

Cleaner formatting of posts

You will no longer see paragraph breaks when your posts are shared on Facebook.  This reduces the likelihood of your posts being mistaken for spam.

Write comments about your Marketplace Items when sharing on Facebook

By clicking on the Facebook Icon in your Marketplace catalog – a dialogue box will open giving you the opportunity to write a comment about the product.  This text will appear on Facebook with a photo and a link to your Marketplace item.

With these upgrades comes a new way to connect to Facebook. No longer will you need to locate your mobile email address, now, you'll be prompted to authorize our app using the easy-to-use wizard that will appear when you go to make a post.

A couple of notes on the process:

1. Information added to your profile will only be shared on Facebook if the person adding it is an administrator on your business' Facebook page. For assistance adding an administrator to your Facebook page, please click the link: https://www.facebook.com/help/187316341316631/
   
   
2. This application is supported by the following web browsers: Internet Explorer – version 9 (and higher), Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari.  If you do not have one of these browsers installed on your computer, you will need to update your system for the application to work properly.

#2 - Multiple Photo Galleries

You can now organize your photos into multiple photo galleries.  Each gallery can be assigned a title that will be displayed on your profile.

Organize Your Photos

Create a new gallery to separate your photos by event or topic.

Re-Organize Your Photos

Easily assign photos from one gallery to another so your pictures are well-organized and easy to view. 

Label Your Photos

Write a description for each photo - explain to your customers what they are seeing. 

A few notes on the system:

1. All of the photos that are currently on your profile have been moved into an album that is labelled the “Default” photo album.  This album will be published on your profile as long as you have photos in it.  To hide this album from your customers' view, simply create one or more new albums and move all of your photos to the new location.
   
   
2. When you upload a photo for inclusion in a “What's New” post, the photo will automatically be added to the “Default” photo album.  If you do not want it to remain in the “Default” album you can move the photo to any other album after you have completed your post.
